Answer:

1309

31013 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

The internal dimensions of a tank are 12 dm ,8 dm and

5 dm. How many cubes each ot edge 7 cm can be placed

in the tank with faces parallel to the sides of the tank.

Find also how much space is left unoccupied?

12 dm = 120 cm

8 dm = 80 cm

5 dm = 50 cm

Volume of Tank = 120 * 80 * 50 = 480000 cm³

cubes each of edge 7 cm can be placed in the tank

120/7 = 17.1    (17 )

80/7 = 11.4  (11)

50/7 = 7.1   (7)

Number of cubes = 17 * 11 * 7  = 1309

Volume of a cube = 7*7*7 = 343 cm³

Volume of all cubes that can be placed = 1309 * 343 = 448987 cm³

space  left unoccupied = 480000 - 448987  = 31013 cm³
