The internal dimensions of rectangular hall are
15m x 12m x 4m. There are 4 windows each of

Given

Internal dimension of rectangular hall =15m×12m×4m

Now

Area of 4-walls =2(l+b)×h=2(15+12)×4=2×27×4m

Area of 4 windows of size =(2×1.5)×4=12m

Area of 2 door of size =2×(1.5+1.2)=7.5m

So, area of hall to be whitewashed =216−(12+7.5)=216−19.5m

=196.5m

Given, cost of whitewashing = Rs. 5 per m

∴ Total cost =196.5×5=Rs 982.50

Now,

Area of ceiling =l×b=15×12=180m

Cost of whitewashing the ceiling =180×5=Rs900

Therefore, the total cost for whitewashing =Rs982.50+900.00=Rs1882.50
