Given,

One mole of Argon at 400K

To Find,

The internal energy of one mole of Argon at 400K.

Solution,

We know that internal energy for an ideal gas is given by, U = 3/2 nRT

Here for Argon no of moles as it is unimolecular, n = 1

R = universal gas constant = (25/3) J/mol/K

T = temperature = 400K

So,

U = 3/2 × 1 × 25/3 × 400

   = 200 × 25

   = 5000 J

Therefore, the internal energy of argon at 400K is 5000 J.
