Question :

Find the internal energy of one mole of argon at 400k .

Answer :

The internal energy of one mole of argon at 400k is 4988.4 J

Given :

Temperature = 400 K

To find :

The internal energy of one mole of argon at 400K

Solution :

We know that ,

Internal energy (U) = 3/2 nRT

where R = universal gas constant

The value of R = 8.314 J mol^(-1) K(-1)

T = Temperature in Kelvin (K)

n = moles of gas

=> U = 3/2 ×1 × RT

=> U = 3/2 × 1 × 8.314 × 400

=> U = 3 × 8.314 × 200

=> U = 600 × 8.314

=> U = 4988.4

*Also we know that the internal energy of 1 mole of any two gases at the same temperature will be equal.

Hence, The internal energy of one mole of argon at 400k is 4988.4 J
