(i) 400 cubes

(ii) 168 cubes

(iii) 86 cubes

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

In a box,

Length = 30 cm,

Breadth = 24 cm,

Height = 15 cm,

Thus, volume of the box = length × breadth × height

= 30 × 24 × 15

= 10800 cm³,

(i) Side of the cube = 3 cm,

Volume of the cube = side³

= 3³

= 27 cm³

Hence, number of cubes inside the box

=\frac{\text{Volume of the box}}{\text{Volume of the cube}}

=\frac{10800}{27}

= 400.

(ii) Similarly if side of cube = 4 cm,

Number of cubes inside the box

=\frac{10800}{4^3}

=\frac{10800}{64}

= 168.75

≈ 168 ( rounded down )

(iii) If side of cube = 5 cm,

Number of cubes inside the box

=\frac{10800}{5^3}

=\frac{10800}{125}

= 86.4

≈ 86
