Answer :

  • The capacity of the box is 0.2m³
  • The volume of wood used to make the box is 0.06775m²

Given :

  • Length = 1cm = 100cm
  • breadth = 80 cm
  • Height = 25cm.

To find:

  • The capacity of the box
  • The volume of wood used to make the box

Solution:

As we know that :

  • Volume of the box = l × b × h

⇸ volume of the box = 100 × 80 × 25

⇸ volume of the box = 200000 cm³

And also Given that sides are made of 2.5 cm thick wood so ,

⇸ External length of the box = 100 + 2 × 2.5

⇸ External length of the box = 100 + 5

⇸ External length of the box = 105 cm

⇸ External breadth of the box = 80 + 2 x 2.5

⇸ External breadth of the box = 80 + 5

⇸ External breadth of the box = 85 cm

⇸ External height of the box = 25 + 2 x 2.5

⇸ External Height of the box = 25 + 5

⇸ External Height of the box = 30cm

Hence,

  • ⇸ External length of the box = 105cm
  • ⇸ External breadth of the box = 85 cm
  • ⇸ External height of the box = 30cm

Now we have to find the External volume of the box

⇸ External volume of the box = l × b × h

⇸ External volume of the box = 105 × 85 × 30 cm³

⇸ External volume of the box = 267750 cm³

Now ,

(1) The capacity of the box = ?

⇸ capacity of the box = l × b × h

⇸ 100 × 80 × 25

⇸ 200000 cm³

⇸ 200000/100×100×100 m³

⇸ 0.2 m³

Hence The capacity of the box = 0.2 m³

(2) The volume of wood used to make the box = ?

⇸ volume of wood used to make the box = external - internal volume

⇸ 267750 - 200000

⇸ 67750 cm³

⇸ 67750/100×100×100 m³

⇸ 0.06775 m³

Hence The volume of wood used to make the box is 0.06775 m³

  • The capacity of the box is 0.2m³
  • The volume of wood used to make the box is 0.06775m²

Answer:

Answer :

The capacity of the box is 0.2m³

The volume of wood used to make the box is 0.06775m²

Given :

Length = 1cm = 100cm

breadth = 80 cm

Height = 25cm.

To find:

The capacity of the box

The volume of wood used to make the box

Solution:

As we know that :

Volume of the box = l × b × h

Hence,

⇸ External length of the box = 105cm

⇸ External breadth of the box = 85 cm

⇸ External height of the box = 30cm

The capacity of the box is 0.2m³

The volume of wood used to make the box is 0.06775m²
