Answer:

900,1300

Given,

The internal measures of a cuboidal room are 10 m * 8 m *  5 m.

To Find,

Total cost of whitewashing and Cost of whitewashing if ceiling of the room is whitewashed.

Solution,

Length of room l = 10 m.

Breadth of room b = 8 m

Height of room h = 5 m

Calculate Area of room:

  • Area of room = Length * breadth

==> 10 * 8

==> 80 m^2

Area of room = 80 m^2.

Calculate Area of 4 walls:

  • Area of 4 walls = 2h(l + b)

==> 2 * 5(10 + 8)

==> 10(18)

==> 180 m^2

Area of 4 walls = 180 m^2.

Area painted = 180 + 80 = 260 m^2.

Cost of whitewashing 1 m^2 = 5

Cost of whitewashing = 5 * 180 = 900.

Total cost of whitewashing = 900.

Cost of whitewashing per m^2 = 5

Cost of whitewashing 260 m^2 = 5 * 260 = 1300.

So, Rs 1300 is required to paint the 4 walls + ceiling.

Result,

Total cost of whitewashing = 900.

Cost of whitewashing if ceiling of the room is also whitewashed = 1300
