Meridian 180 degree was chosen as international date line because it passes through the middle of the Pacific Ocean and there is no practically no land mass and whenever there is land mass deviation has been taken thus Aditya line at roughly 180 degree Meridian has been immediately accepted for rectification of date and therefore it is called international date line
