As in that time. the English were the only people who were on top in science and art. so the introduction of English in India helped them to study the latest sciences and than presenting there own ideas and thoughts in way valued by others

according to me yes english has helped Indian Art and Literature to develop worldwide.The main idea behind this is that in India we communicate and express ourselves in hindi.but when we want to expand ourselves to a wider area like foriegn countries we need to express ourselves in a common medium through which we can people understand our mind.that medium is English as it is a vast language that is spoken all over the world
