a. Bastar rebellion was the result of exploitative and oppressive colonial policies that brought about displacement of the villagers, deprived them of their customary rights

b. It brought about huge suffering on part of the villagers

b. There main cause of worry was with regard to British proposal reserving 2/3rd of the forest.

c. Also to ban shifting cultivation.

d. To ban hunting and grazing.

e. Further, only those were allowed to stay in the reserved forest those who worked for the colonial government, in cutting and transporting trees.

f. They were worried about being displaced without any notice and compensation.

Consequences:

i.The exploitative policies deprived people of Bastar of their customary rights,

ii.They were not allowed to hunt or graze their cattle

iii.This led to rebellion against the British,

iv.Bastar rebellion provided tribals an opportunity to stand against the British and inspire the rebels in other villages.

v. People gathered , held meetings and discussed issues concerning them

vi.. The rebellion in the village of Bastar , marked the victory of the villagers as a result the work on reservation was suspended and the area was reduced to half.

vii.After the rebellion , it almost took British three months to regain control of the village.
