Given : THE INVERSE OF A COSINE FUNCTION

To Find : Choose the interval in which it  defined

(a) [-π, 0]

(b) [-π/2, 0]

(c) [ 0, π/2]

(d) [π/2, π]

Solution:

Principal range for inverse of cosine function is

[0 , π]

also we  know that cos(-x)  =   cosx

Hence if  invers of cosine function is  defined in [0 , π]

then it is also defined in [-π, 0]

from the given options

(a) [-π, 0]  is correct
