The Anther is a knob like structure at the tip of the filament.

  • The male reproductive parts represent  the stamens.  Usually, the Stamen is made of two complex structures, which are the anther and a filament.
  • Anther remains a knob-like structure containing pollen sacs filled with pollen grains.
  • Pollen grains naturally serve as the male gametes or the reproductive cells of the male. The filament in common is a tubular structure.

Knob like structure of the filament is the anther.

1) The male part of a flower is the stamen. Stamen has 2 parts - a long stalk like stamen and an anther at the tip of it.

2) The anther is usually a structure which is bilobed, that is, they have 2 lobes. One lobe has two chambers. So, anther has 4 chambers.

3) Inside the chambers of the anther, pollen grains are found which helps in pollination process.
