The IUPAC name of the compound

When there are two nitrile group present on both terminal carbon, then we include it in main chain.

Therefore, numbering of above compound is given in the attachment.

Naming according to that numbering, we'll get cyano group at 3rd position. And nitrile group at 1st and 5th position.

IUPAC name would be : 3-cyanopetane-1,5-dinitrile.
