As the Rowlatt Act was passed by Imperial Council of British in 1919 and according to this act many local leaders were put in jail by the police and for that and in order to protest against that many people gathered in the Jallianwala Bagh many of them gathered on the festival of Baisakhi they were not known about to General Dyer who had imposed Martial Law and he ordered his soldiers to shoot Indians and many people were killed in this incident
