Answer:

Hyder Ali, a Sultan and de facto ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore in southern India, lived from around 1720 until 7 December 1782. Hyder Ali, his birth name, made a name for himself as a soldier and eventually caught the notice of the rulers of Mysore.

Explanation:

Hyder Ali, sometimes known as Haidar 'Ali, was the de facto king of the Kingdom of Mysore in southern India from about 1722 to 1782. Haider Ali, a soldier-adventurer, became as one of the British's most fearsome adversaries throughout their colonial occupation of India. He is likely only surpassed as a champion of anti-colonial resistance by his son, Tippu Sultan. One of the greatest generals to have fought in Asia was thought of him. In the royal kingdom of Mysore, his father served as chief constable. Due to his early military training and exposure to French tactics and equipment, Haider started to train and advise his forces with the help of European mercenaries. After serving as a minor officer for the Rajah of Mysore, he founded his own company with funding provided by his brother (or, according to some, with loot from battle). After this, he was commissioned as an officer in the Mysore army. He assumed leadership of the army in 1757. When the Rajah passed away in 1766, he was minister of state by 1761 and took full control of Mysore. He made Bednor (Haidarnagar) his capital after capturing it in 1764.

He conquered and lost territory, inflicted harm on the Marathas, the Nizam of Hyderabad, and the British in a series of conflicts that included some French support.
