The value of K for the reaction is 1 × 10⁶.

Given-

  • Value of Ka for the acid HA is = 1 × 10⁻⁶

Reaction of acid HA is

HA + H₂O ↔ H₃O⁺ + A⁻

Ka for this reaction is = 10⁻⁶

Another reaction is -

A⁻ + H₃O⁺ ↔ HA + H₂O

From above reactions it is very clear that

K' = 1/Ka

By substituting the value we get

K' = 1 / 10⁻⁶ = 10⁶
