human have 1 pair of kidney situated below abdomen. it is bean shaped 12 tp 15 cm long

kidney help in purification of blood and produce urine as waste product which excret out through urethra

kidney is made up of millions of nephron, structural and functional unit of kidney. each nephron have two reasons cortical and medullary .

nephron have 4 main parts
a) glomerulas
b) pct
c) dct
d) collecting duct

kidney also help in maintaining osmoregularity

kidney produce 1 to 2 litres urine per day
