Describing relationships between two variables means explaining how changing one thing affects the other. One very common such relationship in A Level (UK college standard prior to university) is the inverse square relationship which occurs in gravity and other phenomena. It's named this because one variable is proportional to the inverse square of the other e.g. G = k.1/d^2
Where G is gravitational force, k is a constant of proportionality and d is distance between two bodies.
OK so in your graph of you know that E=1/2 mv^2 then you know that the relationship is that kinetic energy is proportional to velocity squared. Also using that formula you can see that in your graph mass is 5kg.
