The king, queen and jack of clubs are removed from a pack of 52 playing cards. A card

drawn at random from the remaining cards after reshuffling them. Find the probability that

the card drawn is a

(i) heart, (ii) queen,​

Answer:

total no. of cards = 52

no. of cards removed = 3

remaining no. of cards = 49

(I) P(E) getting a heart = 10/49

( no. of heart cards in a pack of cards is 13, also 3 cards have been removed which can be of hearts. So the remaining cards are now 10)

(ii) P(E) getting a queen = 3/49

( one queen was removed )
