Rajput is the Kshatriya clan that became prominent in the medieval period of India.
Rajput literally means son of a king. A Rajput is the member of a patrilineal clan of India and belong to warrior or Kshatriya caste. They rose to prominence in 6th century and play an important role as rulers, fighters and soldiers till date. They played an important role in strengthening and fall of mighty Mughlas in India.
