the beginning of the poem, the laburnum tree was empty and silent. A female goldfinch then entered her nest which was on the tree which turned the silence of the tree in to beautiful sounds like the chirping of the chicks, movement of the leaves etc. It was synonymous to the starting of an engine of a motor vehicle.
