A flat land of extensive alluvial deposits led to the formation of the northern plain of India. Geologically, the peninsular plateau constitutes one of the ancient landmasses on the earth's surface. it was supposed to be one of the most stable land block. The Himalaya and the northern plain r the most recent landform. the peninsular plateau is composed of igneous and metamorphic Rock with gently rising hills and wide valleys.
