The Green Revolution and benefited farmers. But sadly, extensive use of chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides by farmers have killed the micro-organisms that keep the balance of the soil for optimum production. This affected the fertility of the soil while the havoc caused by pests and other diseases are increasing further leading to more usage of chemicals etc. leading to a vicious cycle. The only solution to this vicious cycle is to promote organic farming or natural farming. The consequences are tough to fathom otherwise. The entire population is reliant on agriculture so there is no other solution but to opt for alternate farming. Even the government is supporting and promoting this to avoid crisis.

If the land under cultivation has reducing day by day, the consequences will be severe. We will face food shortage. The demand for food increases and the price of items increase greatly. The people who can't afford them will starve. This is because of the difficulties faced by farmers. The government should pay more attention on farmers and implement new plans to improve production.
