Le the smaller angle be ( x ) and larger angle (3x + 20)

x + 3x + 20 = 180

4x = 160

x = 40

larger angle = 3x + 20
= 3 × 40 + 20
= 140

Hence angles are 40 and 140.

Thanks

Answer:

plz mark me brillient

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the smaller angle be x°

Given

Larger angle = exceeds thrice the smaller by 20°

= 3(x) + 20

=(3x + 20)°

(3x + 20) + x = 180°

(Because given angles are supplementary)

3x + 20 + x = 180

4x + 20 = 180

4x = 180 - 20

4x = 160

x = 160/4

x = 40

Smaller angle = x = 40°

Larger angle = (3x + 20)

= 3(40) + 20

= 120 + 20

= 140°

Therefore the angles are 140° and 40°.
