Answer:

Explanation:

Let the angles be x and y.

According to the given condition, the required equation,

x+y = 180 --->-(1)

x = y + 18 ---->(2)

substituting the value of (2) in (1)

(1) - x+y = 180

- (y+18)+/y = 180

- 2/y+ 18 = 180

-2/y = 162

y= 81

substituting the value of y in (2)

x=/y+18

x=81+18

x=99

Answer:

Explanation:

Given :-

The larger of two supplementary angles exceeds the smaller by 18°

To Find :-

The Numbers

Solution :-

Let the first angle be x

And the second angle be y

According to the Question,

⇒ x + y = 180

x = 180 - y ... (i)

Now, x - y = 18

Putting the value of x we get

⇒ 180 - y - y = 18

⇒ - 2y = - 162

⇒ y = - 162/–2

⇒ y = 81°

Putting the value back in equation (i), we get

⇒ x = 180 - 81 = 99°

Hence, the angles are 99° and 81°.
