X+18+X=180°

2x+18=180°

2x=162°

X=81°
X+18=99°

2 angles are 81° and 99°

<b><i>Let the larger of the two supplementary angles be ‘y’ and the smaller angle be ‘x’

Therefore, x + y = 180 …I

(∵ sum of supplementary angles is 180° )

Also, y = x + 18 (∵ Given) …..II

Substituting II in I, we get,

x + x + 18 = 180

⇒ 2x + 18 = 180

⇒ 2x = 180 – 18

⇒ 2x = 162

⇒ x = 81°

Substitute x = 81 in II

y = 81 + 18 = 99°

<u>Therefore, measure of larger angle is 99° and the measure of the smaller angle is 81°
