Heyya there

Here is ur answer

The larger of two supplementary angles exceeds the smaller by 18 degrees. Find them.

Let        first angle     = x

And second number = y

As both angles are supplementary so that sum will 180

x + y    = 180

x          = 180 - y                    ... (1)

Difference is 18 degree so that

x – y    = 18

Plug the value of x we get

180– y – y    = 18

-       2 y     = -162

y         = -162/-2

y          = 81

Plug the value back in equation first we get

x          = 180 – 81     =  99

Hence angles are 81 and 99

Hope it may helps you

Let the larger angle be x°
and the smaller angle be y °

ATQ

x°+y° = 180 ----------------i

x-y = 18 -----------------ii
=> x= 18+y

Substituting the value of x in (i)

18+y+y = 180
=> 18+2y = 180
=> 2y = 180-18
=> y = 162/2
=> y = 81°

x = 18+y
= 18+81
= 99°

Therefore, the larger angle is 99°
and the smaller angle is 81°

HOPE IT HELPS YOU !!!
