Answer:

one angle is 40 and other is 140

Explanation:

Let one angle be x and other be y where x is smaller than y

we know that x + y =180 (equation 1)

and 3x +20 = y (equation 2)

so applying the value of equation 2 in equation 1 we get

x + 3x +20 = 180

4x + 20 = 180

4x = 160

x = 40

Answer:

Two angles are supplementary. If one angle is x, then other angle is (180-x)

let x > (180-x)

x = 3(180-x)+20 = 560 - 3x

hence 4x = 560 or x = 140

hence angles are 140° and 40°
