As we know, Peninsular Rivers are those rivers which start flowing from the peninsular plateaus. These are not sessional rivers because they don't get water from a natural all-time source. Instead, they get water from the rains, that’s why they flow only for a limited period. While flowing, they form a U-shaped valley and that’s why they form a slope. The slope that formed is used as a way for these peninsular rivers to travel from places to places. The Godavari River is the largest Peninsular River of India. The River Godavari is also famous by the name of Vridh Ganga. The origin of the river is from Trimbakeshwar which is in the state of Maharashtra near Nashik. Starting from Maharashtra, it travels in the region of Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and then finally ends up at the Bay of Bengal. The Godavari covers an area of about 312,812 km² in total. This area contributes to the one-tenth area of our country, India. The Godavari River is the only river which receives maximum rainfall throughout the year
