The largest possible sphere is carved out from a solid cube of side 40m. Find the surface area and volume of the sphere.

Solution:-

The largest possible sphere will have diameter equal to the side of the cube.
So, r = 40/2
radius = 20 m
Now,
Surface area of the sphere = 4πr²
= 4*22/7*20*20
= 35200/7
Surface area of the sphere = 5028.57 sq m
Volume of the sphere = 4/3πr³
= 4/3*22/7*20*20*20
= 704000/21
Volume of the sphere = 33523.81 cu m
