We have to find the molar entropy of fusion of ice at normal melting point. if latent heat of fusion of ice is 336 J/g

solution : latent heat of fusion of ice = 336 J/g

molar mass of ice = 18g/mol

[ ice is just water in solid form and we know, molar mass of water is 18g/mol so molar mass of ice = 18 g/mol ]

now, molar latent heat of fusion of ice = 336 × 18 J/mol

= 6048 J/mol

normal melting point of ice, T = 0°C = 273 K

now molar entropy of fusion of ice = molar latent heat of fusion of ice/normal melting point of ice

= (6048 J/mol)/273 K

= 22.154 J/mol/K

Therefore the molar entropy of fusion of ice at normal melting point is 22.154 J/mol/K.
