Latent or Hidden heat of steam is more than boiling water due to the reason that water when boiling goes under a change in phase and the heat is not used to increase the temperature but to convert the water in vapour but the steam does not has to undergo change when heated as we know it can only become water on cooling so the latent heat is more in steam as it 's temperature is increasing.
