Given :

  • Length of cylinder = 14m
  • Lateral surface area of cylinder (LSA) = 220 m²

To find :

Volume of cylinder

Formula used :

  • Lateral surface area of cylinder = 2πrh
  • Volume of cylinder = πr²h

Procedure :

  • First of all, we need to find Radius of cylinder from given LSA
  • Then we will find volume

Solution :

We know that, LSA = 2πrh

 \sf \implies \: 220 = 2 \times \pi \times r \times 14 \\  \\  \sf \implies \: r \:  = \:  \dfrac{220}{2\pi \times 14}  \\  \\ \sf \implies \: r \:  = \dfrac{220}{2 \times 14}  \times  \dfrac{7}{22}  \\  \\ \sf \implies \: r \:  = \:  2.5 \: m

Also , we know that Volume = πr²h

\sf \implies \:  Volume \:  = \:  \dfrac{22}{7}  \times  {(2.5)}^{2}  \times 14 \\  \\ \sf \implies \:  Volume \:  = \:  \bold{275 \:  {m}^{2}}

ANSWER :

Volume of cylinder = 275
