Given that:

  • The lateral surface area of a hollow cylinder is 4224 cm².
  • It is cut along its height and formed a rectangular sheet of width 48 cm.

To Find:

  • The perimeter of rectangular sheet.

Formula used:

  • Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth
  • Perimeter of rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth)

Let us assume:

  • The length of the rectangular sheet be L.

According to the question.

Area of rectangular sheet = Lateral surface area of a hollow cylinder

ㅤ↠ㅤL × 48 = 4224

ㅤ↠ㅤ48L = 4224

ㅤ↠ㅤL = 4224/48

ㅤ↠ㅤL = 88

Length of rectangular sheet = 88 cm

Now,

Finding the perimeter of rectangular sheet:

ㅤ↠ㅤPerimeter = 2(88 + 48)

ㅤ↠ㅤPerimeter = 2(136)

ㅤ↠ㅤPerimeter = 272

Hence,

  • The perimeter of rectangular sheet is 272 cm.

GIVEN :-

  • The lateral surface area of a hollow cylinder is 4224 cm²

TO FIND :-

  • Find the perimeter of rectangular sheet = ?

SOLUTION :-

  • Area of Rectangular Sheet = Surface Area of the cylinder

area of rectangle = L × B

l × b = 4224

L × 48 = 4224

Length = 4224/48 = 88 cm

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (×) 88 + 48

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (88+48)

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 × 13 = 272cm

Hence, Perimeter = 272 cm
