The latitudinal of India earmarked between Kashmir to Kanyakumari is given by 37°6′N to 8°4′N and the longitudinal extent from Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh given by 68°7′E to 97°25′E.

Both of these are of 30° . But the actual Arial distance from North to South is 3214 km,and that from east to west is 2933 km.

The distance between two latitudes remains the same all along, but the distance between two longitudes keeps on shrinking as we move towards south from north poles.

The distance between two latitudes reveals that is always 111 km, but the distance difference between two longitudes is 111 km at the equator and goes on reducing to 0 at the poles.
