Ok Lets start with law of conservation of momemtum

It states that total momemtum of an isolated system is always constant.

What is momemtum?
Product of mass and velocity is momemtum.

Let us understand with a simplest example

Think of a situation with no friction.
A car with mass 10kg moving with velo 10m/s
so it's momentum is 100kg.m/s. It strikes a stationary car with same mass. So the car B also starts moving with vel 100 m/s so ita momemtum is also 100kg.m/s.
Car A comes to rest.

So momemtum is conserved
