The law of definite proportion was given by Proust.
The law of definite proposition also known as law of constant composition is discovered by French chemist Joseph Proust.
He conducted experiments during 1798 and 1804 on the elemental composition of copper carbonate and water and thus he arrived at the law of definite proportion.
Law of definite proportions states that the chemical compounds are formed of constant and defined ratios of elements, as determined by mass.
