Law of dominance is not universally applicable After Mendel several cases were recorded by scientists where a clear cut deviation from law of dominance was seen.Such a deviation is seen in the form of co-dominance and incomplete dominance. Law of segregation is universally applicable because during gamete or spore formation ,traits of a pair separate or segregate from each other ,so that the gamete carries only one trait of character.This ensures the purity of gametes. No we do not judge their universality on the basis of exceptions of Mendelian inheritance and linkage ,
