To find:

The LCM of 14/15,6/35

Solution:

LCM:

  • LCM or Least Common Multiple is a number which can be divide by given two number evenly.
  • It is also called as Least Common Divisor of the given numbers
  • Example: LCM(2,3) is 6, here 2 and 3 can divide 6 evenly and it will be the common multiple of 2, 3

***HCF means Highest Common factor of given numbers***

Given fractions 14/15,6/35

  LCM (a/b, c/d) = LCM of Numerators/HCF of Denominators

LCM of Numerators = LCM (14, 6)

⇒ 14 = 2 × 7

⇒ 6 = 2 × 3

⇒  LCM (14, 6)  = 2 × 3 × 7 = 42

HCF of Denominators = HCF(15, 35)

⇒ 15 = 3 × 5

⇒ 35 = 5 × 7

⇒ HCF(15, 35) = 5

The LCM of 14/15,6/35 = 42/5
