Step-by-step explanation:
Given :-
The LCM of 42 and another number is 210. If the HCF is 14
To find:-
Find the other number.
Solution:-
Let the other number be 'b'
Given number(a)=42
The LCM of 42 and b=210
The HCF of 42 and b=14
Formula:-
If a and b are two numbers and their LCM and HCF are L and H respectively then
LCM×HCF=a×b
=>L×H=a×b
=>210×14=42×b
=>b=(210×14)/42
=>b=(42×5×14)/42
cancelling 42
=>b=5×14
=>b=70
Answer:-
The other number is 70
