We know that,

The smallest (least) positive prime number is 2.

The smallest (least) composite number is 4.

So, we've to find the LCM of 2 and 4.

Just understand that, LCM (in simple words) is the first number which is common in both the given numbers.

Here, we have to find a number which is common and comes first in both the numbers i.e., 2 and 4.

Step 1: First of all write all the factors of 2 and 4.

Factors of 2 = 2 and 1

Factors of 4 = 2, 2 and 1

Step 2: Then round the numbers which are common.

Factors of 2 = (2) and 1

Factors of 4 = (2), 2 and 1

Step 3: Then write the common number for one time and then write all other remaining numbers.

LCM = 2, 2 and 1

Step 4: Multiply all the numbers.

LCM =  2 \times 2 \times 1

LCM = 4

So, the LCM of the smallest positive prime number and smallest positive composite number is 4.

It means 4 is the first number which comes first in both the numbers.
