x-y=41

x-41=y

so x(x-41)=336

=x²-41x-336=0

=x²-48x+7x-336

=x(x-48)+7(x-48)

(x+7)(x-48)

x=-7 or x=48

taking the positive value

x=48

y=x-41

y=48-41=7
