Hi ,
Let a , b are two numbers and their LCM
is L and HCF is H
a = 280 ,
L = 14H ---( 1 )
L + H = 600 --( 2 )
substitute ( 1 ) in equation ( 2 ) , we get
14H + H = 600
15H = 600
H = 600/15
H = 40
put H = 40 in equation ( 1 ) , we get
L = 14 × 40 = 560
Therefore ,
a = 280 , b = ? , L = 560 , H = 40
we know,
a × b = L × H
280 × b = 560 × 40
b= ( 560 × 40 )/ 280
b = 80
Therefore ,
second number = b = 80
I hope this helps you.

Given =One number=280
Let the HCF of numbers be =x
LCM of the numbers =14x
According to the question
14x+x=600
15x=600
x=600/15
x=40
So, HCF=40
LCM=14×40=560
We knows the formula that is
LCM×HCF=First number×Second number
putting the values
560×40=280×2 number
22400=280×2 number
2 number=22400/280
2 number=80
So, Other number is 80
