Given:

  • LCM = 14 × HCF
  • LCM + HCF = 750
  • If 1 number = 250

To find:

  • Other number = ?

Method:

Let HCF be x and LCM be 14x

According to the question,

HCF + LCM = 750

→ x + 14x = 750

→ 15x = 750

→ x = 50 = HCF

LCM = 14x

→ LCM = 14 × 50

→ LCM = 700

Use the formula;

HCF × LCM = Product of 2 numbers

→ 50 × 700 = 25 × Other number

→ Other number = 35000 ÷ 25

Other number = 1400

Question= the LCM of two numbers is 14 times their HCF the sum of the

LCM and HCF is 750 if one number is 250 find the other number

Solution:

Correct answer 140

Let HCF be X. LCM will be 14x.

now X+14x=750 gives X=50

HCF= 50, LCM= 700

Now product of two number= HCF * LCM

Let second no. be Y.

250*Y= 700*50

on solving we get Y= 140.
