Given :  The LCM of two prime numbers p and q is 221

(p > q)

To Find :  value of 3p – q

Solution:

 two prime numbers  p , q

HCF (p , q) = 1  as HCF of two different prime numbers is  1

LCM * HCF = p * q

=> 221 * 1 = pq

=> pq = 221

221 = 1 * 221  = 13 * 17

1 and 221 are not prime numbers

13 and 17 are prime numbers

p > q

=> p = 17  and q = 13

3p - q

= 3(17) - 13

= 51 - 13

= 38
