The 'leaves of a plants dies' when 'stomata are blocked'.
The leaves of plants consist of stomata which are very important for the “process of photosynthesis” in it. Not only does contain the photosynthesis causing pigment chlorophyll, but also is responsible for the exchange of gaseous and liquid substances.
When the stomata of a leaf are blocked, the process of "photosynthesis" stops and so does the gaseous exchange and water vapour exchange. The leaf dies out of suffocation and unavailability of food.
