According to the question,the leakage of LPG from its cylinder can be immediately detected. The process which enables its easy detection is the same which enables survival of aquatic organisms in water.

The process is known as the diffusion.

Due to this process,the gas starts to spread in the nearby atmospheric air, which also spreads it's smell.By that smell we can easily detect the leakage.

This process is also known as the diffusion process.
