Case 1 :
x - 2 ≥ 0
=> x ≥ 2
| x - 2 | = x - 2
| x - 2 - 1 | > 3
| x - 3 | > 3
=> x > 6 , x < 0
so x > 6 as x ≥ 2
Case 2
x - 2 < 0
=> x < 2
| x - 2 | = - (x - 2 ) = 2 - x
| 2 -x - 1 | > 3
=> | 1 - x | > 3
=> x < - 2 or x > 4
x < - 2 as x < 2
Solution :
x ≤ - 2 and x ≥ 6
