SOLUTION:-

════════════

Given:

•The length of a rectangle is 5m greater than it's width.

•If the perimeter of rectangle is 50m

To find:

══════

It's length.

Explanation:

══════════

Let the width of the rectangle be R m

Let the length of the rectangle be R+5 m

  • Perimeter= 50m

According to the question:

We know that, perimeter of rectangle;

=) 2[length + width]

Therefore,

=) 2[R+5 + R] = 50

=) 2[2R +5]= 50

=) 4R + 10 = 50

=) 4R =50 -10

=) 4R= 40

=) R = 40/4

=) R= 10m

Thus,

Length of the rectangle= R+5

=) [10 +5]m

=) 15m

Given:

  • The length of a rectangle is 5m greater than it's width.

  • If the perimeter of rectangle is 50m

To find:

  • Length of the rectangle =?

Step-by-step explanation :

Perimeter of the rectangle = 50 cm [Given]

Let the width of the rectangle be x m

Then, the length of the rectangle be x + 5 m

We know that,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

Substituting the values in the above formula, we get,

➟ 2(x+5 + x) = 50

➟ 2(2x +5) = 50

➟ 4x + 10 = 50

➟ 4x = 50 -10

➟ 4x = 40

➟ x = 40/4

➟ x = 10

Therefore, We know that the value of x = 10.

Hence,

Length of the rectangle = x + 5

= 10 + 5

= 15.

Therefore, The length of the rectangle = 15 cm.
