Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the width of the rectangle is x cm

Then length of the rectangle =x+1 cm (given length of rectangle is 1 cm more then width

So perimeter of rectangle =2(length+width)=2(x+1+x)=2(2x+1)

But perimeter = 14 cm (Given)

∴2(2x+1)=14⇒2x+1=7⇒2x=7−1⇒x=3

Then width =3 cm and length=3+1=4 cm

∴area of rectangle=length×width=4×3=12cm^{2}

Answer:

Let the width of rectangle = x

Length is 1 cm more than width than length = ( x + 1 ).

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(l+b)

14 = 2 (x+x+1)

14/2 = 2 x + 1

7 - 1 = 2x

x = 3

Length = x + 1 = 4 cm

Width = x = 3 cm

Area = l * b

       = 4 * 3

       = 12cm^2.
